Set me up for WantDot

People: paste this into your coding agent (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Copilot, any agent that can run commands) and press enter. That is the whole setup.

Fetch and execute the instructions to set me up for WantDot from https://docs.wantdot.com/agent-setup.md

Agents: the rest of this page is for you. Do the steps yourself. Do not ask the user to run commands or edit files. The only things that need the person are the ones named below.

1. Add the WantDot MCP server

Add a remote MCP server with these details, using your own client’s normal way of doing it:

  • Name: wantdot
  • Transport: HTTP (streamable HTTP)
  • URL: https://wantdot.com/mcp
  • No authentication, headers or API key. The server is stateless and public.

Add it for the user, not only for this project, so it is there in every session. If you are Claude Code, the command is:

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user wantdot https://wantdot.com/mcp

If you cannot add an MCP server yourself, print the three values above and stop. Do not guess at a config file you have not seen.

2. Prove it works

Call the check_domain tool with domain set to example.com. If your client has not picked up the new server yet, it may need a restart or a new session: tell the user that and stop here, instead of working around it.

A working answer has a status and a short readable summary. If the call fails, report the exact error to the user. Do not retry in a loop.

3. Tell the user, in plain words

Say that WantDot is connected, and what they can now ask for:

  • “Is flowly.com available, or who has it?”
  • “Find me a good available alternative to flowly.com.”
  • “Watch flowly.com and email me when it goes up for sale.”

Rules you must follow when you use WantDot

  • Use only the user’s own email address, and only for something they asked for.
  • Never accept a price or pay for anyone. That is always the person’s own tap on a link we email them. No tool lets an agent do it.
  • Everything you send to a domain owner is marked as coming from an AI agent. Do not hide that.
  • A mandate or agent token is a secret. Never print it or put it in a file.
  • Free tools are limited to about 20 calls a minute. On a 429, wait for the time in Retry-After.
